As they started seriously collecting art, Steven Alan Bennett and Dr.Elain Melotti Schmidt found that art pieces by female artists were underrepresented in the art world. So they decided to do something about that, they created The Bennett Prize with the goal of propelling the careers of women painters, empowering artists and showcasing talented female artists. Find works from the Bennett Prize artists at the Muskegon Museum of Art in their exhibit Rising Voices 2: The Bennett Prize for Women Figurative Realist Painters.
